Sea Life Aquarium and Tiblow Days 2013

August turned out to be a very busy month in our house. Two of the highlights were the Sea Life Aquarium and Tiblow Days.
We were pretty excited to take the girls here in mid-August. It was a nice way to get out of the heat, and try something new (an accidental theme for us this year). I found a coupon for one free kid ticket per adult, so we were able to cut the cost in half (thank goodness, because it’s a little pricey). When we got in the aquarium, the girls were instantly excited. They love looking at animals, and really had a ball! Lily even touched a star fish (Madi wasn’t too keen on that part). We could hardly keep ahold of them, because they were so excited to see sharks and “Nemo” fish. I’m sure we’ll be back next year!

My Favorite!
After the aquarium, we walked across the street to the free Curious George exhibit. It was pretty crowded, but the girls had fun exploring George's world!

I have been to my hometown’s annual Tiblow Days celebration/parade since I was 5 years old. The parade goes right in front of my parents’ house, so I always had a front row seat (minus the year’s when I was in the parade with the high school band…). This year we decided to try something different, though. We signed up for the Tiblow Trot Walk, which was supposed to be a nice 2 mile walk. It ended up being closer to 3 miles, in 90 degree weather, while pushing a stroller (gotta admit, glad that Daddy pushed that thing most of the way). The entire walk seemed to be up-hill, and I ended up with a blister…I think we’ll pass of the Trot next year. The girls did have fun though, of course they got to ride in the shade the whole time ;-)
The parade was a lot of fun, but it was pretty hot as well. The girls had their bags ready to grab candy! It was nice, because neither of them was scared and enjoyed seeing the bands and horses go by.
Up before the sun was out!

After the race with Papa

Gross, hot, and tired...but we all finished!

Has the parade started yet?!

We hear the band!

Ready for candy

Too loud!

Parades are awesome!

Overall, August was a busy and very hot month! This mom is looking forward to fall!!
