Day Four
started out at Hollywood Studios. We got to see a live performance of
Disney Junior characters (including Mickey Mouse, Sofia, Jake, and Doc
Mcstuffins). They girls were mesmerized by the performance (which we had
to watch sitting on the floor…).
After Disney Junior, we walked around the park for a little while,
before catching up with Grammy and Grandad. While Nate and I went on the
Star Wars ride, the girls hung out with Grammy and Grandad. They got to
watch Darth Vadar fight Jedi Kknights…not bad!
Right next to the Star Wars area was a small theater showing a sneak
peak of “Maleficent”. The girls had been obsessing over this movie, so
it was an awesome treat to see a 15 min preview!
After the movie, we went shopping for souvenirs, and then headed
over to the animation building. We got to check out some drawings they
had on display, but the highlight was Mickey and Minnie (plus the crew
from Wreck it Ralph). They were so excited to
see these characters. They never once asked me why little mice were so
big. It was just another example of how mesmerized they were by the
entire experience…they completely “bought it” and I loved watching how
excited they were. We caught a glimpse of Princess
Sophia as we headed out of Hollywood Studios.
We
went back to the condo for lunch and a nap, before going back to Magic Kingdom.
It was actually a lot less crowed (at least initially). We were able to ride on
the Flying Carpets, which was probably their favorite ride, climb up the Swiss
Family Robinson’s tree house, and go through Pirates of the Caribbean. We ate
dinner in a pirate tavern before the big show started. We actually went back
magic Kingdom that night for the light parade and fireworks. The parade was
really cool because it was illuminated by a ton of lights! They girls really
liked it, and even got Cinderella to blow them a kiss! After the parade it was
pandemonium, as everyone headed to Cinderella’s castle to watch the fireworks.
We didn’t get a great view, but it was still pretty cool. We stayed while the
crowds headed for the gates to do some more shopping. I’m glad we did, because
they had a really cool display on the castle before we left. It looked like the
castle was coming apart and being rebuilt, very 3-D. It’s hard to describe, but
it was pretty cool.
| She was doing a curtsy to the princesses! |
After
the final show, we headed out. Of course, I had NO IDEA it would take us two
hours to get home because of the crowds all trying to get on the ferry and
parking lot. What a nightmare! Luckily, Madison fell asleep and Lily was pretty
cooperative. Needless to say, it was a pretty late night! We decided to take it
easy the next day (Saturday). We stayed at the condo and went swimming, and
then enjoyed some local ice cream.
